When ARMOR Automation Inc. was originally founded in 1990 by Mike Eckert, it provided specialized technical support in robotics, which included programming, training, and project management of automated Robot systems. This specialized service ended in 1998.
In 1997 ARMOR Automation Inc. purchased all the PC board test equipment from Hobart, which included specialized fixtures, and test-welding machines, for any Hobart product built. All the welding machine service operations were then transferred to ARMOR Automation Inc., from HOBART/ITW.
In 1998 ARMOR Automaion Inc. purchased all the welding equipment parts inventory from Hobart, and complete manufacturing and distribution rights for the "HUWI" Universal Robotic Welding Interface.
